INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF IMAM
Required Islamic Knowledge Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Islamic University (or equivalent). Equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
- Detailed Knowledge of at least one school of Fiqh and broad knowledge of the other schools of Fiqh.
- Excellent Tajweed and proper pronunciation of the Quranic verses.
- Fluency in English and a good understanding of Arabic.
Required Personal Skills:
- A passionate, creative and energetic Leader
- Ability to connect to Muslims from different age groups, especially the youth and children.
- Ability to relate to Muslims from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- North-American living experience and ability to relate to non-Muslims.
- Computer and social media skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
Additional Assets:
- Hafiz of the Quran.
- Prior experience as community Imam.
- Counseling experience.
Salary and Benefits:
These will be based on qualifications and experience.
