ISK operates an Islamic School, a library and organizes Islamic study groups, public lectures and other related activities.
Weekday Qur’an Classes
Qur’an classes are organized according to the child’s proficiency in Qur’anic Studies. There is a placement tests in the first week of school to determine their level. All levels are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at ICK.
Weekend Islamic Studies Classes
The Weekend classes on Saturdays depend on the child’s current grade level in school.
- JK, SK, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3 (2:00 PM – 3:30 PM)
- Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6 (3:30 PM – 5:00 PM)
- Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11/12 (11:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
Special Learning Needs
Students can be accommodated for their needs in the special education class. The special education teacher stays in contact with the parents of the student who requires accommodation to set up an individualized education program.
Islamic Studies
Islamic Studies classes are on Saturdays for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 in a group setting of up to 20 students per teacher. The classes are taught using the “Weekend Learning Islamic Studies series” (please see www.weekendlearning.com for more details). This series contains Islamic concepts based on the Qur’an and authentic Hadith that are tailored for each age & grade level with continuity, expanding on concepts from previous years. Thus, students will be placed at their appropriate level and not based on the convenience of class time.
For Saturday classes, the time slots are pre-assigned and cannot be changed.

There are 3 sets of Qur’an classes running
Monday – Thursday | 5:30 – 7:30 PM | complete beginners to youth proficient in tajweed |

New students are placed at an appropriate level based on their proficiency, which will be determined by placement tests held September 9th – 10th, during the first week of classes. Returning students will remain at their level unless otherwise specified. The Quran levels are listed below, each having proficiencies that must be demonstrated before students advance to the next level:

MC2 provides children ages 6-11 an opportunity to come together, build strong Islamic identity, leadership skills and work towards establishing an environment of care.

Kingston Muslim Youth is an organized group of Muslim youth (aged 12-18). It has an executive committee supported by one or two adult advisers.
